COACHING COURSES

ECB Core Coach Course

The IWCB are holding a Core Coach Course on the below dates and times at Ventnor Cricket Club.


Saturday 11th January 2025 - 10am-5pm

Sunday 12th January 2025 - 9.30am-4.30pm

Saturday 25th January 2025 - 10am-5pm

Sunday 26th January 2025 - 9.30am-4.30pm

Bursaries are available for the following groups to increase the diversity of learners:

Potential/existing coaches that are female

Potential/existing coaches from ethnically diverse communities

Potential/existing coaches with a disability

Coaching on the IW - Bursaries

 

Coaching is a challenging and enormously rewarding role within our game. Players need expertise, support and passion at every level of their development.


No matter whether you are putting something back into the game you love, progressing your career, helping out at your local club, or simply providing more support to your child, there is a reason for everyone to get involved in cricket coaching.


If you or someone you know is thinking of joining the coaching family click here to find out which programme is right for you.


Bursaries funded by the generous support provided by the England and Wales Cricket Trust are intended to increase the diversity of learners taking their first step into coaching, gaining a qualification or taking the next step on their coach development journey.


Groups that have been identified to increase the diversity of learners accessing coach development programmes are:

• Potential coaches/coaches that are female

• Potential coaches/coaches from ethnically diverse communities

• Potential coaches/coaches with a disability

• Potential coaches/coaches experiencing financial hardship.


A bursary can be awarded to learners that register on ECB Support Coach, ECB Foundation Coach or ECB Core Coach programmes.

Anyone wanting to access coach development that is experiencing financial hardship will be awarded a bursary of up to 100% of the national price of the programme.

Anyone wanting to access coach development that is female, from an ethnically diverse community, has a disability who is not experiencing hardship will be awarded a bursary of up to 50% of the national price of the programme.

Once an applicant receives confirmation, they will need to complete their Cvent registration and make full payment and upon attendance at face-to-face modules receive a refund to redeem their bursary.

Please note if you are experiencing financial hardship and applying for a bursary you will need a discount code to complete your ECB Support Coach/ECB Foundation Coach/ECB Core Coach registration.

ECB Coaches Association

The purpose of ECB Coaches Association is to inspire participation and maximise performance of cricket coaches and players.   Members come from all levels of the game, right from the England team downwards, and have somewhere to turn to get the ongoing support all coaches need in order to be the best they can be.   


Nationally, the ECB Coaches Association offers a range of products and services that help you to support players.  Membership will be provide access to the latest thinking and developments through our resources, invitations to workshops, networking with like-minded coaches as well as being able to wear the ECB CA three lions.

Membership categories   

The ECB CA offer two levels of membership to meet your needs.  All members must abide by the ECB Coaches Code of Conduct. 

  • Full Member: (£30 per year)  You need:  To hold a cricket coaching qualification  An up-to-date ECB DBS Check.
  • Associate Member: (£10 per year)  Open to anyone aged 16 and over. There are no other criteria to become an associate member, it is open to everyone interested in cricket coaching.

  • Public Liability: the members’ legal liability for injury to third parties and/or damage to third party property - £5,000.000 - limit of indemnity  
  • Employer’s Liability:- the members’ legal liability for injury to helpers in coaching sessions - £10,000,000 - limit of indemnity  
  • Personal Accident: A range of benefits from accidental death at £20,000 to cost of repair of spectacles or dentures - £300  
  • Legal Expenses - recently introduced to provide additional protection for the members in respect of various, potential, legal actions  Legal and Tax Helpline - advice on any legal/tax matter 24 hours a day 365 days a year
