Isle of Wight Association of Cricket Officials

Welcome to the page of the IW ACO.

We are a small association compared to most ACO's across the UK and are currently in a period of transition as we welcome new members. Fortunately, we have a dedicated group of officials who are committed to supporting those new to the role. In partnership with the Isle of Wight Cricket Board, we are focused on growing the society on the Island, with a particular emphasis on assisting in the recruitment and retention of officials. Our long-term goal is to provide officials for all cricket matches across the Island. We warmly welcome new members and encourage anyone with an interest in cricket to get in touch and get involved.

Update on the Application Process

I am pleased to inform you that ahead of the 2025 season, in a project involving Technology, Finance, Customer Support and Coach Development, the ECB will be launching a new digital membership system for both the ECB Coaches Association (ECB CA) and the Association of Cricket Officials (ACO). The new system will modernise how memberships are managed, offering a flexible and improved digital experience for members across the network.

Key benefits of the new digital membership portal:

  • Streamlined Self-Service Membership Management
  • Enhanced Insight & Reporting Capabilities for Administrators
  • Simple Payment Options

We are fully committed to ensuring a smooth transition, and this change will make managing memberships simpler for Counties and members alike.

Expressing Interest for New Members during this period:

For those wanting to join during the lead-up to the official launch of the system, they can register early interest in ACO membership. Simply fill out the online expression of interest form HERE.

They will be the first to be contacted to fulfil their memberships online when the new system launches. As a gesture of goodwill, we will still offer insurance and other member benefits to these individuals during the interim period. There are no changes to the current ACO Membership Options available at this time and any changes will be communicated at a later date.

We look forward to working together to make this a successful transition and we will shortly be contacting existing members to advise them on next steps. More information on the new digital membership system will be shared in the coming weeks. If you have any questions, feel free to contact myself or one of my team.

Vetting Checks:

All prospective Full and Young Officials (14-25 yrs old) members must complete a vetting check with the ECB. The checks are valid for three years from the date of issue.

  • Vetting forms can be obtained from either calling 0115 969 4603 or emailing ecb@tmgcrb.co.uk. You can also contact your County Cricket Development Manager or County Welfare Officer.
